Hi, I’m Steffi, the creator of Bambuko. This little store did not begin in a boardroom or from a trend. It began at home, in the middle of everyday parenting, with children who experience the world with extra intensity. Autism and ADHD are part of our family story, and so are the long transitions, the loud places, the waiting rooms, the big feelings, and the tiny victories that not everyone sees.
Like many parents, I tried so many fidget toys. Some were too noisy. Some were too hard. Some were exciting for a day and forgotten by the next. I was not looking for something magical. I was looking for something simple, gentle, and comforting enough to stay in their hands when the world felt like too much.
The squishies were different. The slow squeeze, the softness, and the way they returned to shape gave my children a small point of calm they could carry with them. They do not replace support, patience, therapy, or love. But in our home, they became a tiny bridge back to breathing, focus, and connection. Bambuko grew from that moment.
